Creekside Engagement

Being in community helps bring definition to ideas and concepts. It is with that in mind we open up opportunities for folks to participate in the restoration and thoughtful development of Creekside through our engagement program.

We hold regular Creekside cleaning parties, bird and salmon walks, and are interested in how we can best develop this site for the entire community of users.

Youth DIRT

Providing opportunities to explore the overlap of youth interest, employment and passions is the goal of Youth DIRT. We connect community partners to engaged youth allowing for mutually beneficial relationships to grow. Mentorship and access to resources has long been a recognized determinate  tied to wellbeing in both youth and adults, we provide these opportunities.

This is an intergenerational and supported environment for youth to build community and casually discover the commonalities in their own interest and strength, alongside community need. We are interested in connecting passions within the community recognizing that the best relationships are reciprocal.  Reach out if you are an interested youth or mentor.

Youth participants should be able to take and give direction, follow multiple step processes and work well independently. We recognize that age should not always be the gauges by which we measure, however we recommend that participants be at least 11 yo. If you are interested in participating please click the link below and tell us a bit about yourself.  Sessions will be at Skyrman Arboretum in Central Point, start in the spring 2024 and be held on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30pm - 5pm.

This program is supported by The Skyrman Techno Fund through Oregon Community Foundation.

Bee Cool Club

Caring for pollinators, the planet and each other is the goal of our Bee Cool Club. We started our first club in 2020 with each participant learning what it entailed to be a true beekeeper. We did the book work, built the hives, placed the queens and met monthly to talk about hive maintnance and issues we were facing.
